Syria Participates in The Non-Aligned Movement Summit in Uganda and Affirms its Commitment to Multilateral Action

The Syrian Arab Republic, with a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, participated in the Non-Aligned Movement Midterm Summit, held in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, dedicated to discussing international challenges and strengthening multilateral action to address global crises.

During the sessions, the Movement's member states reiterated their welcome for Syria's return to its natural place within the international community, praising the path of change in Syria based on national leadership and ownership. They also affirmed the relevant international resolutions regarding the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, and renewed their call for respect for the UN Charter and the principles of international law, in order to preserve Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

For its part, the Syrian delegation emphasized the balanced approach adopted by the new Syrian diplomacy in its regional and international relations, and its commitment to the principles and goals of the Non-Aligned Movement in supporting justice and international cooperation.

Syria's participation in this summit comes as part of its active return to the multilateral arena and its commitment to strengthening constructive cooperation with various international platforms and organizations.
