Statement Issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic

Damascus, October 12, 2025, with deep sadness and sorrow, we received the news of the death of a number of Qatari diplomats in a tragic traffic accident that occurred on the road to the Egyptian city of Sharm El-Sheikh.

The Syrian Arab Republic, while offering its condolences to the State of Qatar, its leadership and people, over this great loss, extends its sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims.

Syria affirms its support for Qatar in these difficult circumstances. We pray to God Almighty to bestow its mercy upon the deceased and to grant them a place in its spacious gardens. We pray to God to grant the injured a speedy recovery and to inspire their families with patience and solace.
